Newmarket International Festival of One Act Plays

NIFOAPs is an annual one act play festival held in Newmarket, Ontario at the Newmaket Old Town Hall Theatre, located at 460 Botsford St in historic downtown. The festival runs Sept 8-11 in 2022. Shows start at 8PM and end arond 10PM Thurs, Fri, Sat with a Sunday Matinee show for younger audiences from 2pm – 3:30pm. Features world and Canadian Premiers.

Beginning in 1831, the Children of Peace would welcome people from all over to a celebration the first Friday in September. They would light all of the candles in the Temple, hold a concert, and an Alms Giving service. Today, we still light the main floor of the Temple with beeswax candles, and the incredible building is still filled with glorious music. We continue the evening with refreshments on the lawn afterwards, so guests can enjoy the breathtaking views.
