The York Region Arts Council (YRAC) is currently seeking qualified individuals to join the Board of Directors. A single term of office for a Director is three (3) years. The Board meets virtually every other month and regular attendance and participation are required. Ad hoc communication and meetings may also be required, as needed. This is an excellent volunteer opportunity for emerging or established professionals with an interest in arts, culture, and/or tourism to make an impact on the arts community in York Region and beyond.
YRAC is in need of individuals with knowledge/expertise in one or more of the following areas:
Legal services
Accounting/finance
Frameworks of Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, Accessibility, and Sustainability (IDEA)
YRAC also values experience in the following areas: arts & artistic development, business development, cultural advocacy, cultural and social policy & research, digital media, government relations, environmental advocacy, event planning, human resources, Indigenous relations, marketing and communications, operations/administration/governance, partnerships and sponsorships, philanthropy and fundraising, public relations, strategic planning, and tourism.
Priority will be given to candidates with expertise in the numbered fields above, as well as individuals from equity-deserving groups including Black, Indigenous, Persons of Colour, LGBTQ2S+, and persons with disabilities.
