Artist and instructor Judith Livingston, who created the watercolour above called Poppies and Peonies, will be overseeing a communal art project at Unionville’s Stiver Mill Community Centre.

As part of Culture Days, the three-week celebration of free arts and culture activities, in-person and (some) online (Sept. 23-Oct. 16), York Region is hosting the Markham Collaborative Art Project this weekend at Unionville’s Stiver Mill Community Centre (9 Station Lane)
On Sept. 24-25 from 11am – 2pm, artist and instructor Judith Livingston will oversee this big communal paint-and-or-collage-athon on a 40″ x 30″ stretched canvas. Locals are invited to come on down to the Centre and get creative on a square for the paper quilt.
Perhaps you can add something tied in with culture or the community, and if you’re less artistically inclined, just go with something more abstract. No judgement here.
The results can be seen on Oct. 3 on both Livingston’s web site and the Markham Arts Centre’s site.
