This is Part Two of our look at what’s on in York Region for Family Day 2022. We will be posting more of what’s on in York Region for families to do all next week.

Why not get outdoors and have some fun this family day – Monday, February 21! York Region has a number of family friendly events to choose from.

Richmond Hill Winter Lights on display at Richmond Green Park

Free outdoor skating (weather permitting) is widely available throughout York Region, including Richmond Green Skate Trail, Mill Pond Park, Lake Wilcox, Markham Civic Centre outdoor rink, Chancellor Community Centre and Garnet A. Williams Community Centre in Vaughan, Holland Landing at Ridge View Park and the Mount Albert Community Centre in East Gwillimbury and many more.  

Treewalk Village Winter Visits

Monday, February 21 – Thursday, February 24

TreeWalk Village Stouffville, 3291 Stouffville Rd Stouffville

Reservations are required.

Climb from tree house to tree house through 8 ft tall hammocks, nets, and wood bridges! Descend to the ground on slides, play on our treewee obstacle courses and other forest games!

This is a 2-hour activity, and although it is open to all ages, it is ideal for ages 3-7.

Spaces are very limited and the parks are booking full on most days so be sure to reserve ahead of time.

Brooks Farms Winter Forest Bonfires

Looking for something safe to do outdoors? Consider a winter forest bonfire!

Bonfires are the perfect way to spend time with your family and friends. Enjoy a hot beverage, roast marshmallows, relax and enjoy great company in the Glimmering Winter Forest. It’s the ultimate winter activity as we navigate the current pandemic! When you arrive for your designated time slot, Brooks Farms will have your fire blazing for you and ensure your flames are thriving as you and your guests enjoy the warmth and energy from the crackle of the logs.

Daily – Monday to Sunday

12:00pm and 2:30pm

Duration: 2 Hours

Price: $65, for 4 people, additional $10/person to a maximum of 10 people

Includes:

2 Hour use of one of our Fire Pits located in our Glimmering Winter Forest

S’mores Kit for 4

1 Hot Beverage Per Person (Hot Chocolate, Tea, or Coffee)

1 Roasting Stick Per Person
