April 29 to May 14, Latcham Art Centre. FREE
This spring, Latcham Art Centre will celebrate National Youth Week with opportunities for Stouffville youth to express their creativity, learn new art-making skills, and meet other youth through free community-based art events.
Youth activities begin with the opening reception of Celebrations on Friday April 29 from 3:00 to 6:00 PM at the Art Centre. The exhibition illustrates creativity and inspiration featuring the artwork from 12 elementary schools in Whitchurch-Stouffville and students from Stouffville District Secondary School. The exhibition is free and open to the public. Light refreshments will be served during the reception.
Activities continue with Latcham Art Centre’s annual kickstART event on Friday, May 6 from 6:00 to 9:00 PM. kickstART is a free, action-packed evening of art, prizes and creativity specifically designed for youth. The Live Paint Battle, open to ages 12-16, encourages creative ideas and offers a chance to win art prizes. The evening is complimented by button-making, mini canvas collages, music and snacks. Paint Battle spots are limited. Sign up on our website at latchamartcentre.ca/our-events. Spectators are welcome with no registration required.
