Holiday lights and festive activities are popping up across York Region. Niemi’s Family Farm is opening Christmas Land with Polar Express this weekend and King Township is invited folks to participate in their annual Holiday Light Tour.
Christmas Land With Polar Express at Niemi’s
Weekends to Dec. 17/18, beginning Saturday, November 26 – Sunday, November 27. And December 20 – 22.
Experience the Magic of Christmas – Polar Express, Santa Claus, Bonfire, Smores, Christmas Market & Santa Land. Polar Express will bring you around the farm to meet the farm animals. Meet Santa in His workshop in the magical Christmas Land at Niemi’s Christmas Village in Mount Albert, Ontario. Santa spends time in his workshop on Fridays and Saturdays to meet children and adults alike.
There’s free admission to the market and you will find the Christmas Cafe, free pastries, Finnish goodies, candles, candies, ornaments and wreaths and so much more.

Christmas in King – 2022 Holiday Light Tour
Back by popular demand, the Christmas in King Holiday Light Tour will be shining brightly again this year. Do you want to share that brightness and help light up someone else’s Christmas?
The Holiday Light Tour is open to local residences, businesses, schools and churches (and any building that is lit up and can been seen from the road!). This year, Christmas in King will touch the lives of more than 350 people, providing gifts, gift cards, festive food hampers and other holiday items to help make their holiday season brighter.
Criteria for participation in the Holiday Light Tour:
- Exterior lights/display must be visible from the road
- A sign (provided) must be displayed near the road to help map purchasers easily identify your house
- Lights/display must be turned on from 6 pm to 10 pm, December 4 to 31 inclusive
- Register for free by November 30, 2022 to participate (maps will be available for purchase by December 4)
