Natalie Portman and Chris Hemsworth, above, star in Thor: Love and Thunder, now playing at the Stardust Drive-In in Sharon.
Once upon a time, in a place not called Hollywood, there were moving picture screens dotted across the Canadian landscape.
Empty fields converted into gathering spots for people so in love with their cars, that they refused to leave them, even to watch a movie. And so the drive-in movie was discovered.
Over the years, and especially so with the advent of the interweb, the charm of the drive-in movie lessened and they began to close, slowly at first and then in great waves until only a very few remained.
One of the few to survive is the Stardust Drive-In in Sharon.
Open seven nights a week, the Stardust shows two features a night, beginning around 7:45 p.m.
This Friday, Saturday and Sunday – however, to celebrate the long weekend, the Stardust is hosting triple bills on all three screens.
Screen 1 is playing Minions – The Rise of Gru; Thor: Love and Thunder and Jurassic World Dominion.
Screen 2 is playing Nope, Black Phone and The Hangover.
Screen 3 has DC League of Super Pets; Top Gun: Maverick and Elvis.
